Message from the Board

Dear colleagues and friends of the CCAT,

Welcome to the website of the Consular Corps Association of Toronto (CCAT).

The members of the Board of CCAT are committed to supporting the work of our members and all consular officials in Toronto. We aim to promote a more business-oriented agenda, ongoing cultural activities and a closer and more effective relationship with the Provincial Government of Ontario. We would like all our colleagues to have a fruitful experience in carrying out their duties as representatives of their respective Governments, in collaboration with both the City of Toronto and the Province of Ontario.

As the Dean of the Corps and the Chair of CCAT, I would like to see our Association expand its horizon into a number of areas and initiatives which will open new opportunities by bringing people together.

The following areas are worthy of consideration:

- Deepening ties with the Province of Ontario with emphasis on Trade, Investment, Technology Transfer and Tourism.

- Encouraging corporate alliances and commercial links through the establishment of a Bi-National Chamber of Commerce between our respective countries and Canada, using Ontario as a base.

- Promoting and facilitating educational, academic and professional exchanges.

- Cooperating with local and regional authorities in the promotion of youth development with an emphasis on sport and community based volunteer activities.

- Expanding our involvement in various areas of culture.

- Exploring opportunities for greater interaction with Non Governmental Organizations (NGO's).
